We are casting

  • An honorarium payment of $1,000 will be offered to all cast.

  • The production will be professionally filmed for posterity and to help promote the show to overseas producers. This is your chance to be part of the world premiere performance of this new show.

  • The show will be performed in September/October 2019 – Central Coast venue TBC. 
    Rehearsals will be at the Central Coast Conservatorium in Gosford.

  • You need to live on the NSW Central Coast (or surrounding regions) of Australia.

Roles:

An Ensemble cast of nine is required. The lead role is Maskull, a young man on a journey of discovery. Six of the nine cast will play multiple roles. Each role has 2 or 3 featured songs.

#1: Male, 20s. Tall and fit. Tenor
Maskull - Hero of our story. An adventurous young man seeking, in his own naive way, the meaning of life.

#2: Female, 20s-30s. Contralto
Seraphina - Maskull's friend and alter ego

#3: Male, 30s-60s. Baritone ALREADY CAST
Krag - Errant guide, Devil, and trickster
Broodvoil - A multi-limbed mystic
Haunte - A man's man

#4: Male, 20s-30s. Tall and slim. Tenor
Backhouse - Spirit medium
Fature - A slave
Corpang - A disillusioned priest

#5: Male, 20s-30s. Baritone
Crimtyphon - Oceaxe's husband. An effete monster
Polecrab - A fisherman with simple needs
God #1 - Faceny

#6: Female, 20s-30s. Soprano
Joiwind - Motherly embodiment of love 
Sullenbode - The ultimate female

#7: Female, 20s-30s. Mezzo-Soprano with Belt
Oceaxe - The embodiment of primal selfishness.
Gleameil - A fisherman's wife in search of more.
God #2 - Amfuse

#8: Female, 30s-40s. Mezzo-Soprano
Tydomin - A manipulative witch. Charmingly evil.
Earthrid - Egocentric musician.

#9: M/F or Trans, 20s-30s. Tenor/Contralto
Panawe - Joiwind's husband. A gentle soul 
Arg - Polecrab's pet.
God #3 – Thire

Auditions are at the Central Coast Conservatorium
45 Mann St, Gosford NSW 2250
Sunday 31st March. 1pm – 5pm.

Include in your email –

  • Which role(s) you are interested in

  • A CV/resume. Be sure to Include links to any videos you may have of you performing.

  • Be prepared to sing a couple of minutes of any song you wish from another show. Either A-Capella or with a backing track brought as an MP3 file on a flash drive. We will have playback facilities. Pianist will not be available. This song should show your vocal range and performance ability.

  • No need to prepare any pages, though you may be asked to read a short scene.Eventually we'll be adding videos and images from the production here. Stay tuned.
